Wings of Spring: a summary

Our inaugural Wings of Spring event was held last weekend, and now the process of documenting and identification is underway in earnest.

Loads of moths, a huge diversity of other insects, a handful of butterflies - including one very special one! - and spiders, large and small. Not a bad haul for just a few hours! The sightings are currently being uploaded to the Atlas of Life: Coastal Wilderness NatureMapr database … a collaborative task involving expert moderators and all participants.

We thank our special guest presenters and experts: Glenn Cocking, Suzi Bond, and Stuart Harris. All three travelled from Canberra for the event, and were very generous in sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for citizen science.
