From Little Things BIOBLITZ

Atlas of Life Bioblitz

MERIMBULA
16 September, 2017

This year the Atlas of Life is partnering the From Little Things parklands project to co-ordinate a lively family focused BioBlitz of their Merimbula Creek site and in nearby reference habitats. The "From Little Things Parkland" project is set to create a community sustainability centre in the heart of Merimbula. They will rehabilitate and plant areas of land just behind Club Sapphire on Main Street and will develop market garden plots and a centre for education, arts and good food and good company.

Walking the areas along Merimbula Creek and different habitats close by, we have been amazed to discover what beautiful and wild places are within easy walking distance, whether it is rainforest gullies, or Woolybut woodland with fine views down to merimbula Creek and Back Lagoon, there are many fascinating habitats with different wildlife residents, within easy reach. This BioBlitz will be a joint exploration and recording of what we can find today, with a view to learning how biodiversity can be developed over time.

From 8:00am to late afternoon on Saturday September 16th participants, friends and naturalists are invited to help establish a baseline species record of as many species of wildlife and flora as possible.

Do join us if you want to learn more about the nature of our place, whether you are an expert or novice or have a young family looking for fun in nature, do come along.

And learn more information on the from little things Facebook page
