A Bold Eagle over the Black Range

by Matthew Higgins

May, 2020

The Wedge-tailed Eagle (Aquila audax, meaning ‘Bold eagle'), is Australia’s biggest bird of prey. It has a wingspan of over two metres. Filmed at Black Range in the south-east of the country by Matthew Higgins, Audax 2020 follows these beautiful birds as they soar on the updrafts, seek mates, protect territory, and enthrall humans with their aerial majesty. Yep, the filming is hand-held and the sound raw, but just enjoy the birds!
