Look, Record and Learn
Cobargo, which is demonstrated such resilience after the black summer fires is the venue for our first Life in our Cemeteries event of 2025. Please join us for a journey through time and nature at Cobargo Cemetery. Led by expert botanist Jackie Miles and historian Fiona Firth and entimologist and citizen scientist Deb Taylor. Learn how cemeteries provide a glimpse into the region’s original plant and insect life and hear tales of early settlers, bushrangers, and the challenges of life in the 19th century. Plus, don’t miss David Newell’s talk on the Smart Farms project and bushfire recovery. A day of history, ecology, and community! Look forward to seeing you on the15th March, please don’t forget to register, it helps with the catering.
Thank you for your interest in Life in our Cemeteries. The event scheduled for this Saturday 15th March at the Cobargo Cemetery has been postponed.
During our preparations, we’ve become aware of an unfortunate oversight in not engaging some local community stakeholders. To address this, we would like to postpone the event to allow for adequate consultation with these groups.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope you understand the necessity of this change. We will bring you a better event after these very important discussions.
