National Science Week Launch 16th August Bournda

The Sapphire Coast Regional Science Hub will launch the Sapphire Coast Science Festival at Bournda Environmental Education Centre at Bournda National Park on Saturday 16th August at 1pm. The program will feature a range of interesting hands-on science activities that will get you thinking science in the great outdoors:

• There are 4 x 75 min sessions, come for one or come for all; 12 fascinating activities to choose from. • Investigate the Bournda EEC Climate Watch trail and identify plant and animal species that can help scientists understand the effects of climate change better. • Study the biodiversity of estuarine ecosystems, with a focus on Wallagoot Lake. • Explore how you can use the Atlas of Life in the Coastal Wilderness to record your nature sightings. • Conduct a fish dissection with the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre. • Take part in a night-time search for the elusive Yellow Bellied Glider.
