Plants of Wyndham by Norm Clarke

Local Stories

With many thanks to local naturalist Norm Clarke

(written by Kerri-Lee Harris)

Norm Clarke is a keen observer of life in his patch of the far south coast. He records his nature observations in Wyndham, with a particular interest in documenting how individual plants and other living things change over time.

At a recent Atlas Naturalists event, Norm described his approach to record keeping. He has created a database on the Atlas of Living Australia website. For each of his entries, he includes a range of photographs.

And Norm is very happy to share his resource. Thank you Norm!

Some of his records are introduced species, others are native. Although the identity of many of the species are unconfirmed, this dataset is a valuable record. It is yet another example of one person’s pursuit to understand and record local biodiversity.
